Disney Credit Card
By: Anne Durrell
The Disney company seems to be into everything these days, but now they have a customizable credit card that offers some really cute rewards that could be handy for many families.
If you're a Disney buff, then here are some good reasons to apply for a Disney credit card.
1. Low APR
The Disney credit card is offered through the Chase Bank and you're likely to receive a visa with the option to apply for a 0% introductory interest rate for the first 12 months. If you know you're going to go on a Disney vacation, then this could be the ideal way to pay for your travel and accommodation without incurring any interest costs for the first year. If you can pay down your balance before the introductory rate expires then you could find that you've managed to find a way to pay for your vacation interest free.
2. Customizable Card
This isn't really a reason to get a Disney credit card, but it is a nice feature. You get to choose which Disney character or design you want on your card. There are plenty to choose from, so select your favorite and you can have it put onto your card for you.
3. Disney Dream Reward Dollars
For every dollar you spend, you can earn Disney Dream Reward Dollars. When you have enough reward dollars, you're able to redeem them for things like discounts on hotel accommodation, meals at restaurants, Disney merchandise, DVDs, toys, tours access to special events tickets and much more.
There are often special reward points offers available that might offer double or even triple the normal points earned, so if you buy specific vacation packages or merchandise you could find your points add up faster than you thought.
4. Invitations
One of the nice perks of having a Disney credit card is that you're added to a special mailing list that means you'll start receiving invitations to special events that the general public won't have the same access to. These could be invitations to preview new Disney movies or special invitations to various Disney productions. They regularly release pre-release tickets for Disney on Ice shows so you're able to grab the best seats before everyone else gets a chance.
5. Redeeming Your Points
Obviously, the people who bring you the Disney credit card want you to redeem your points in Disney-related merchandise and products. This means that you can spend your reward points at Disneyland Resort, Walt Disney World or the Disney Cruise Line, but if you want to redeem your points while you're at home, you're able to log online and choose from the rewards available at the Disney Store.com
