There are several types of credit cards with rewards available these days. For many people, the option of receiving extra rewards for using your credit card the same way your normally would is a great incentive.

The types of rewards you might receive are no longer limited to frequent flyer miles. In fact, you have more options now than ever before to receive rewards that better suit your own spending habits and your own preferences.

Always be aware that if you're the type of person who carries a large balance on your credit card at any time, then you might find that the interest rates charged can be a little higher than comparable accounts.

However, if you're disciplined enough to keep your balance paid down regularly so you're always free to continue charging new purchases to your card, then you could receive your choice of some great rewards.

Here's a brief look at some types of credit cards with rewards:

Cash Back Rewards

Cash back rewards are perhaps the most convenient form of credit cards with rewards. Every time you make a purchase using your credit card, you're given $1 for every $100 you spend. This can add up quickly if you use your card to pay for groceries, fuel, bill payments or other regular spending items. You receive a check in the mail that you can spend on anything you want.

Reward Visa Card

Once again, the more you use your card, the more points you accumulate. If you're the type of person who is able to pay down the balance of your card frequently, then you can seriously amass a lot of points in a short time. With reward visa cards you can redeem your points for things like gift cards for your favorite outlet stores. You might even qualify to receive direct discounts for spending with specified retailers.

Frequent Flyer Miles

This is the most recognized form of credit cards with rewards. For every dollar you spend, you receive points that can be redeemed for flights to most places in the country with many airlines. You might also decide to redeem your miles for nights in hotel accommodation or even car rentals. Some cards also offer the option of choosing cruise tickets instead of flights.

Pet Rewards Cards

Credit cards with rewards have reached a new level for pet lovers or even farmers. With pet reward cards, you're given 2 points for every $1 you spend on qualifying purchases only. The idea is to reward people who buy regularly from pet food retailers or feed stores for farmers. You may even be eligible to receive points for visiting the veterinarian clinic. When it's time to redeem your points, you'll need to spend them on pet-related items. This could mean receiving pet food, farm feed, veterinary services and other pet-related things!
